About
Hello — I’m Sam Ackerley, a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist with nearly a decade of experience in musculoskeletal health and pain management.
My approach blends evidence-based medicine with a deep respect for the body’s ability to heal, working with you to restore movement, reduce pain, and improve your quality of life.
I’ve worked extensively across local NHS MSK services, developing advanced skills in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of both acute and chronic conditions. Alongside my clinical work, I’ve completed several postgraduate Master's-level modules that enhance the scope and depth of my care:
First Contact Physiotherapy (FCP) – enabling me to assess, diagnose and manage patients directly in primary care settings, often as the first point of contact in GP surgeries.
Non-Medical Prescribing (NMP) – allowing me to prescribe medications where appropriate, to support physiotherapy treatment.
Injection Therapy – providing targeted pain relief and inflammation management using image-guided or anatomical landmark injections.
These qualifications allow me to offer an integrated, streamlined approach to patient care—without the need for multiple referrals.
I believe in treating the whole person, not just the symptoms. Whether you're recovering from a sporting injury or navigating a long-term condition, I tailor treatment to your goals and circumstances. My aim is to empower you with the knowledge and tools to support your own recovery.
